Collective Appeal to the State Committee of Industry

Proposal on preferential gold acquisition for jewelry manufacturers

The Essence of the Initiative:

May 16, 2024 the "Turan" Association sent a collective appeal to the State Committee of Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic with a specific proposal to support the jewelry industry. The main goal is to provide jewelry manufacturers with access to gold on preferential terms to stimulate legal production and industry growth.

Key Proposal of the Association:

To establish a special price for gold for jewelry manufacturers — 2% below the market price from the London Metal Exchange fixing.

This proposal aims to reduce production costs, increase the competitiveness of Kyrgyz jewelers, and stimulate the legal turnover of precious metals.

Expected Results if the Proposal is Implemented:

Cost Reduction

Direct reduction of costs for the main raw material for manufacturers, making products more affordable and competitive.

Production Legalization

Creating economic incentives for artisans and enterprises to transition into the legal framework and work under "white" schemes.
